Becker Flooring

A website for a flooring installer in the Okanagan. Built so people can see the work, get a rough price and ask for a quote in one visit, with a call or quote button always in reach.

Becker Flooring homepage, built by Elliot Digital

Becker Flooring installs hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl, tile, epoxy and commercial floors from Lake Country across the Okanagan. I built a site with a page for every floor type, room and nearby city, a cost calculator that gives an installed price range, and a quote form that collects what the job needs before anyone picks up the phone.

The brief

People shopping for a new floor usually want three things before they call: proof the installer does good work, a rough idea of the cost, and a sense of which material fits the room. Becker covers a wide range, from a hardwood living room to an epoxy garage to a commercial shop floor, and those are very different jobs. The site had to keep each one clear, give an honest price range without a sales call, and make sure every enquiry arrived with enough detail to quote from. It also needed to show up for searches across Kelowna and the rest of the Okanagan, not only in Lake Country.

How I built it

  • 01A page for every floor. Hardwood, laminate, luxury vinyl plank, tile and stone, epoxy and commercial flooring each have their own page, and commercial epoxy has a page of its own because a shop owner asks different questions than a homeowner. Room pages for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, garages and living rooms point people to the floors that suit each one.
  • 02A price before the phone call. The cost calculator takes the material, the square footage, the state of the subfloor and what has to come out first, and gives an installed range. If the number works, one form sends that estimate and every input along with it, so the quote starts from what the customer already told the site.
  • 03A quote form that asks the right questions. The contact form asks which service someone needs. Pick commercial epoxy and it adds fields for the type of space, the approximate area, the current floor and the timing, which is what a commercial job needs to be scoped. A short quiz helps people who have not picked a material yet.
  • 04Project pages that only say what the photos show. Each project has its own page with a gallery, the details you can see in the finished floor and what goes into installing it. I left out addresses, product names and dates until they are confirmed, and a before and after slider is only used when both photos show the same floor.
  • 05Photos that load fast on a phone. Every photo is built in several smaller sizes, and the page asks for the one that fits the screen. A phone on a job site does not download a desktop-sized image, and the work still looks sharp on a large monitor.
  • 06Local pages and checks that protect the leads. Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Vernon, Penticton, Peachland and Summerland each have a page. Every form sends to the owner’s inbox, and the build refuses to run if the form key is missing, then a live check confirms the deployed site can still send a lead.

The outcome

Someone planning a new floor can see real installs, find the page for their material or room, get a rough installed price and send a request in one visit. The enquiry arrives with the material, the size and the job details already filled in, so the first reply can be about the floor instead of a list of questions.

The service, room and city pages give the site a reason to come up for the many ways people search for flooring around the Okanagan. These are features of the work. I am not publishing a traffic or lead increase without measured results.
