Click-Through Rate (CTR).
The percentage of people who saw your search listing and actually clicked it.
CTR is impressions divided by clicks. If 100 people see your listing in Google and 8 click, your CTR is 8%. You can see your CTR per page and per query in Google Search Console under the "Performance" report.
Position #1 in search averages around 27% CTR. Position #5 drops to about 6%. Position #10 is around 2%. So moving from page 2 to the top of page 1 isn't a 2x lift — it can be 10x.
CTR is also a ranking signal. If your title and description are compelling and people click, Google reads that as a vote of confidence and may bump your position. Boring titles cost you twice.
