Restaurant website design / Canada

Websites for restaurants, cafes and food businesses.

Before someone picks a place to eat, they want four answers: are you open, what is on the menu, what does it cost, and how do they get there. A restaurant website should give them all four on a phone in a few seconds. I'm Bryce Elliot. I build custom-coded restaurant websites for owners across Canada, in person at my Lake Country, BC office or remotely. Websites are $1,500 to $4,900, and larger custom builds start at $6,500.

A restaurant website I built.

Lu Lou's Lakeside Grill website by Elliot Digital

Lu Lou's Lakeside Grill

A walk-up grill on the beach at Wood Lake in Oyama. The site shows whether the grill is open on the first screen, lists the full menu with prices, explains how to get there by car, bike or boat, and has local guides for the lakes and the rail trail. I also run their social media and local SEO.

Who this is for

Independent restaurants, cafes, bakeries, food trucks, pubs and seasonal spots. You might have no site yet, a site with a menu PDF from two seasons ago, or a page on a template builder that looks like every other place in town. If people already find you on Google and social media, the website is where they go to check the details before they come in.

What a restaurant website needs

The menu as real text, not a PDF
Every item and its price on the page itself, so it loads fast, reads on any phone and can be found by search engines. A PDF has to download, needs zooming, and goes stale the day a price changes. The Lu Lou's menu lists every item with its price and filters by price range, vegetarian and soft-serve.
Hours and open or closed, up top
The first thing most people want to know is whether you are open right now. Lu Lou's shows that on the first screen, with the closing time beside it. Holiday and seasonal hours get a clear place too, so nobody drives over to a locked door.
Directions for how people really arrive
A map link is a start. A good directions section also covers parking, transit or bike access, and anything odd about finding the door. Lu Lou's Find Us page covers car, bike, boat and paddleboard, with one-tap directions in Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze.
Built for the phone first
Most people looking up a restaurant are on a phone, often already out. The phone number is one tap away, the menu is one tap away, and the layout is designed at phone width before it is stretched to a desktop.
Matches your Google Business Profile
Your hours, address, phone number and menu link should say the same thing on your website and on Google. I check that they match at launch. If you want help setting up or tidying the profile itself, I offer Google Business Profile work as its own service.
Ordering and reservations through the tools you use
If you already take orders or bookings through a platform such as Square, Toast, OpenTable or a delivery app, the site links to it or embeds what that platform allows, so the button is always easy to reach. I do not build ordering or point-of-sale systems. If you need one, I can help you compare options and connect the one you choose.
Social and the site together
If you post specials and events on Instagram or Facebook, the site can show your recent posts so it looks current through the season. I run social media for Lu Lou's, and their homepage shows recent reels.

A website with one clear job.

For a business launching, replacing an outdated site, or making enquiries easier. We agree on the pages, features, copywriting, and two rounds of consolidated design revisions before work starts. A business site usually takes three to six weeks once content and access are ready; integrations and larger builds are scoped separately.

Pricing
Websites are $1,500 to $4,900. Larger custom builds start at $6,500. Care plans are optional at $79 to $249 a month, or you can host it yourself.
What we need from you
Your services, brand assets, existing domain access, and approved photos. Client photos, Bryce’s iPhone photography, or a quoted professional shoot are all options.
How we review the work
We check mobile layouts, forms, accessibility, and loading behaviour before launch. After launch, inquiries and bookings matter more than a test score. You own the paid-for site and can choose a care plan or your own hosting.

Compare the scope, not the price

A lower quote can leave work out. A higher one can include work you don’t need. Compare what each one actually delivers, then decide.

Common questions

  • Websites are $1,500 to $4,900. Larger custom builds, such as a store or a site with many location pages, start at $6,500. Care plans are optional at $79 to $249 a month. CAD, plus applicable GST/HST. Your written quote lists the pages and features before work starts.

  • A PDF has to download, is hard to read on a phone, and search engines read it poorly. A menu written as text on the page loads fast, can be read without zooming, and is simple to update when a price changes. If you also want a printable version, the PDF can sit beside it.

  • Yes, through the tools you already use or choose. I link or embed your ordering, delivery or reservation platform so it is one tap from any page. I do not build ordering systems myself, and any fees from those platforms are between you and the provider.

  • We agree on that before the build. Some owners want to edit prices and hours themselves, others prefer to send changes and have them done on a care plan. Either way, the hours and menu live in one place, so a change shows up everywhere on the site.

  • Yes. My office is in Lake Country, BC, where clients meet me by appointment. I also work with restaurants anywhere in Canada remotely, with calls, screen shares and design reviews online. Photos are decided per project: your own, photos I take on my phone when I can get there, or a professional photo or film shoot quoted separately.

  • The build includes search foundations: a text menu, clear titles and descriptions, structured data that describes the restaurant and its menu, and details that match your Google Business Profile. Rankings depend on competition and ongoing work, so I do not promise positions. Ongoing SEO is $750 to $1,900 a month plus $1,000 setup.
